The symposium took place in the small city of Alfaz del Pi, near
Benidorm and Alicante in Spain. It was organized by the Spanish group
Circulo escéptico. Special thanks go to Fernando Frías, who was the local
organizer. The symposium was attended by ca. 20 people on Saturday, and
ca. 12-14 persons on Sunday. Foreign visitors came from the Czech Republic
(L. Pekárek) and Germany (A. Sarma, M. Mahner). The event was
announced/covered by two local/regional newspapers. The presentation of
the magician J. Soler was taped by a local TV station, because he
demonstrated various magic tricks used by Geller and others.

Despite the low international attendance this first time, it is in
principle a good idea to hold ECSO symposia in different countries,
for it gives us the opportunity to get to know better the national
skeptics organizations.
