ARP-SAPC
(Rational Alternative to Pseudoscience – Society for the Promotion of Critical Thinking)

Founded as Alternativa Racional a las Pseudociencias in 1986, this Spanish skeptical organisation added Sociedad para el Avance del Pensamiento Crítico to its name in 1998.
Its main activities include the publication of the magazine El Escéptico (‘The Skeptic’) and the free online bulletin  El Escéptico Digital (‘The Digital Skeptic’), holding annual national conferences, as well as informal local monthly gatherings known as Escépticos en el Pub (Skeptics in the Pub). Prominent members of Spain’s scientific community are active for ARP-SAPC, and serve as spokespeople to assess extraordinary claims in the media.

The society annually grants the Premio Mario Bohoslavski to people outside the association who have distinguished themselves by promoting the development of science, critical thinking, scientific communication and education, and the use of reason.
