Near the small Flemish village of Lotenhulle, Belgium, a quite unique monument has been removed. It commemorated the sighting of five UFOs on July 21, 1955.
The now removed monument
Former paratrooper Marin Vandercruyssen said he saw there five “silver discs” floating silently above the nearby highway. About twenty other witnesses were reportedly present.
It is curious that Vandercruyssen didn’t come forward with his story until 2004. After a second witness was found, the local municipality gave permission to place a memorial stone on the edge of the road where he made his observation. The stone was initially installed on July 5th (World UFO Day) in 2005.
The small monument, a square pyramid with sides of about half a meter, was reportedly paid for by Vandercruyssen, who was a staunch UFO believer. He chaired the East Flanders branch of the Belgian UFO Network (Bufon).
Vandercruyssen died in 2020. The monument has now been removed at the request of the family, who no longer wishes to be associated with the event.
Rupert Matthews – described by one Conservative MP as ‘mad as a box of snakes’ – has been automatically made a Member of the European Parliament for the East Midlands this week after the sitting MEP won a seat at for the UK Parliament in the June general election. Mr Matthews is ‘an expert on the paranormal’. As well as his work with the International Metaphysical University, he the author of a range of parapsychology books including titles such as Paranormal Surrey and A History of Alien Activity from Sightings to Abductions to Global Threat. He also has a theory that the Lisbon Treaty gives the European Commission the power to invade Britain. He believes that ‘They could go to the German government and say please send us a Panzer division, and if the German government said yes, then the European Commission could send that Panzer division to London and there is nothing the British government could do about it’.
On 20.9.16 people near Dartmoor in South West England were shocked when a UFO was spotted over their area. The object, ‘a bizarre light’ can be seen hovering in the distance in amateur footage taken by Tanya Davis and her daughter Charlee. They claim that it remained there for around two to three minutes, after which it slowly disappeared into the distance. ‘Friends told them that the light could have originated from a drone, but the pair said that it was “too big” and “silent” for that to be the case’.
However, a police officer dismissed the UFO theory, announcing that the lights were caused by a source closer to home and planet Earth. ‘I can confirm there are no #UFOs over #Okehampton. @BritishArmy have an exercise ongoing with flares. Countless 999 calls now… #WordsFail’ – he tweeted. (See Aliens are not launching an attack on West Devon – it’s just an Army exercise)
Dartmoor is used mainly for training exercises by Royal Marines and other forces.
